The Shard light show to light up London skyline tonight
Date Posted: 05/07/12

Tourists staying in London hotels this evening will be treated to a front-row seat for the impressive unveiling of The Shard building.
The EU's new tallest building will receive its official introduction to the capital's skyline with an impressive laser show, set to begin at 22:15 BST this evening.
Beams are set to be fired from the top of The Shard to some of London's most famous landmarks, such as the Gherkin and Canary Wharf, so anyone on a short break to the city should be able to get a front-row seat for the show.
Anyone keen to get a closer glimpse of the spectacle will be able to buy a ticket to visit the building's viewing platform, for a truly exclusive experience. However, lucky ticket-holders will also be able to enjoy a ride on one of two "kaleidoscopic lifts" that take occupants up 68 floors in just 30 seconds.
The Shard, which stands at an impressive 310m tall, will be inaugurated by the prime minister of Qatar and Prince Andrew.
