September's York Food Festival will be a culinary delight
Date Posted: 12/09/12

Enthusiastic foodies will be spilling out of York hotels and other venues later this month, when York Food and Drink Festival gets underway.
Taking place between Friday, September 21st and Sunday, September 30th, the York Food Festival will bring the city to life with a showcase of the region's most exciting cuisine and drinks.
The rich and diverse programme includes food tastings, boutique markets, live music and craft ale, beer and wine events.
There will also be cooking demonstrations and workshops to inspire visitors to get creative in their own kitchens. Choice among them are What's Cooking? The Chemistry of Food and York's Chocolate Story - Celebrating Rowntrees. All demonstrations will be hosted in St Sampson's Square.
In addition to all of this, restaurants will be offering special meal deals as part of the festival, giving couples on cheap city breaks every excuse to treat themselves to a tantalising evening menu every night.
To encourage culinary exploration, organisers have produced a Taste Trail booklet, which includes discount vouchers entitling visitors to 'taster' samples at each of the participating venues.
