See 'Sensational Butterflies' at the Natural History Museum
Date Posted: 07/03/14
From April 3rd to September 14th, the butterflies will be returning to the Natural History Museum in an interactive exhibition entitled Sensational Butterflies.
The display will allow visitors to wander among hundreds of these most delicate and colourful of creatures. Now in its sixth year, the family friendly exhibition will be housed in a specially constructed tropical enclosure on the Museum’s east lawn.
Sensational Butterflies takes guests on a journey through the life cycle of one of nature’s most fascinating insects – from crawling caterpillar, to tightly wound chrysalises, to beautiful butterfly.
Wandering through the butterfly house, visitors will be able to spot caterpillar eggs waiting to hatch, see the silky chrysalises up close and watch the caterpillars as they undergo their metamorphic transformations.
The exhibition will feature many species of butterflies and moths from around the world, as well as combining interactive displays and activities.
Treat the kids to a short hotel break in the capital and come and see the marvellous world of the butterfly for yourself.
