From May 1st to November 2nd, the V&A Museum will be be showcasing a new exhibition, exploring the history of posters about protest.
A World To Win: Posters Of Protest And Revolution will look at the powerful and dramatic imagery used in protest posters and feature images from the from the ‘Votes for Women' Suffragette campaigns of the early 20th century to the recent Occupy movements.
It will explore the way in which political activists around the world have used artwork to mobilise, educate and organise and look at case studies such as the Paris revolt of May 1968 when students and workers covered the walls of the city with poignant imagery and catchy slogans.
The posters displayed featured in such events as the recent Arab Spring and the global financial crisis and are drawn from the V&A collection and new acquisitions.
The exhibition is being held in room 88a and The Julie and Robert Breckman Gallery and is free to enter.
