See Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Kew Gardens
Date Posted: 27/02/14
This Easter, take the kids to Kew Gardens for a special chocolatey-themed treat - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory style.
From April 5th - 21st, Kew Gardens will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of Roald Dahl’s best-loved stories in partnership with the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre and Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The New Musical.
Activities include a number of themed arts and crafts workshops based around the four main Chocolate Factory rooms featured in the book. There will be the chance for kids to create their own chocolate bar with Willy Wonka himself, make squirrel masks and moving models of Oompa-Loompas, and listen to stories from Roald Dahl’s hilarious Revolting Rhymes.
In the Princess of Wales Conservatory, kids can also settle down to watch a short film from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The New Musical.
On Sunday April 20, there will be a traditional Easter Egg Hunt around the various gardens and greenhouses. Combine this with face-painting and Willy Wonka cream teas, and it’s set to be a great Easter day out for the whole family.
Make a weekend break out of your visit and spend time looking around other family-friendly attractions in the city.
