Seasons of Love to premiere in West End

A major new show by the team behind the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony, as well as world tours by the likes of Take That and Madonna, is set to receive its West End premiere at the Royal Drury Lane next March.

The production, entitled Seasons of Love, is described as a joyful and spectacular mix of music and dance that sees the audience transported on a journey that explores three love stories over four seasons of the year and at various stages of life.

Produced by Glen Leddy of Ireland Touring Ltd, the show will have a strong Irish flavour, with present day Ireland's spectacular scenery providing both inspiration and a backdrop for the performers.

Thrilling dance choreography, brand new songs, extraordinary video projections, body mapping and other high-tech visuals are also expected to feature heavily as the dancers take the audience on a journey of the heart.

The full cast has yet to be announced but a casual glance at the people involved suggests that this is most definitely a project to get excited about.

Leading the production is Gareth Walker, who will take up the dual post of director and choreographer. He has long been in demand for his incredible directional flair, which he has utilised on projects including the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, the Brit Awards and tours for artists including Take That and Mika.

Design will be handled by Mark Cunniffe, considered one of the most creative and innovative lighting and production designers working in international events and touring today. His handiwork has been appreciated by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Sir Tom Jones, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, AC/DC and REM.

Other people attached to the project include Mark Leddy of popular band Friends of Emmet, and champion fiddle player Brendan Larrissey, who will between them be handling the music.

It promises to be a feast for both the eyes and the ears. Seasons of Love arrives at the Royal Drury Lane Theatre on March 1st 2015.
