Reach for the Stars this Valentine's Day at the Royal Observatory Greenwich
Date Posted: 07/02/13
A short break in the capital is a great way to treat your loved one this Valentine's Day.
And if you do choose to visit London this February 14th, consider heading to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich for an evening to remember.
This Valentine's Day, the observatory will be holding a special romantic edition of its regular Evening With the Stars event.
Visitors will be treated to a themed planetarium show exploring the passionate side of astronomy; a chance to gaze at the stars through the gigantic 28-inch telescope plus a glass of bubbly for all ticket holders and a red rose for each couple.
Two different sessions take place during the evening, the first at 5.30pm and the second at 6.10pm. Each lasts an hour while tickets cost £18 per person.
The Royal Observatory Greenwich is something of a London landmark, being the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the prime meridian of the world.
It also houses London's only planetarium and the UK's largest refracting telescope.
