Popular Arts Festival Returns to Yorkshire Next Weekend
Date Posted: 20/05/13
The UNESCO World Heritage Village of Saltaire in West Yorkshire will be holding its ever popular arts festival over the bank holiday weekend, providing a wonderful opportunity for those on weekend breaks in the area to discover more about the local creative scene.
Known as the Saltaire Arts Trail, the event will be taking place from May 25th to 27th and will feature a number of fascinating exhibitions, including a photography collection from Jo Booth which aims to tell the story of the town by juxtaposing contemporary images with old maps.
A Makers' Fair will also be held in the town's Victoria Hall, giving visitors the chance to meet some local artists and find out more about their methods and techniques, as well as purchase some of their pieces.
In addition, a series of workshops for children will take place under the theme of Out of This World, enabling kids to take part in activities such as building a space station or creating a time capsule.
