New 'Sunflowers' Display at the National Gallery
Date Posted: 04/11/13
Two Van Gogh paintings are set to be shown together as part of a London display starting early next year.
The National Gallery will show a pair of versions of the artist's Sunflowers between January 25th and April 27th 2014 in room 46.
They are part of a set of five different versions of 'Sunflowers' according to the gallery.
It won't cost anything to see this exhibit, which is also set to feature results from scientific studies into the works which the National Gallery and Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum have undertaken.
It's promised that this has provided more of an understanding about how the pieces were made and what they mean, as well as how they relate to each other.
"This exhibition is designed to help those for whom the paintings by Van Gogh are compelling images to understand how they were made – and made again – and out of what materials. It will deepen every visitor’s appreciation of the artist," commented Dr Nicholas Penny, National Gallery director.
