Mother's Day: Half will send a Facebook message to mum
Date Posted: 31/03/11
Britons are too busy to buy their mum a card for Mother's Day, according to new research, with nearly half saying that they will post a Facebook message or send a text instead.
A study by The Card Boutique showed that 46 per cent will turn to technology this year, while nearly 50 per cent have forgotten the occasion in the past.
However, for those wanting to make an effort for their mum, vouchers for city breaks or spa weekends can be easily bought over the internet, while a bunch of flowers will also put a smile on her face.
"We're all more 'time poor' than ever in this country and people struggle to go to the shops to buy a card. We are sending fewer than we used to but the ones we are sending tend to be better quality - and more and more are bought online," said Pam Gibson from the card retailer.
