Date Posted: 16/04/14
Those interested in Georgian history should head to Kensington Palace where a new exhibition is to be held, celebrating the 300th anniversary of George I’s ascension the throne.
Running from April 17th to November 30th, Glorious Georges will explore the world of the Georgians and the way in which the era gave rise to to a change in music and fashion and culture.
Visitors will be able to experience the court of George II and Queen Caroline when they came to the British throne in 172, see the opulent fashion, hear the stories and gossip and marvel at the lavish furniture.
Guests will even get to meet the political and intellectual Queen Caroline herself when she is dressed during morning ‘levee’, by her enemy, the king’s mistress, Henrietta Howard.
See the new exhibition during a London city break and book yourself into a London hotel.
