McKellen and Stewart for No Man's Land

Theatre veterans Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are in talks to appear in the Harold Pinter classic No Man's Land in the West End, following a highly successful Broadway run 12 months ago that saw the acting veterans raking in acclaim.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair are attempting to organise their busy schedules so that they are able to fit in a long West End run, but enthusiasts need not start booking tickets just yet as it may not take place until 2016.
"We’re definitely doing it. The question that hasn’t been answered is: when," he told the Mail at the after-party for the Evening Standard Drama Awards at the London Palladium.
McKellen and Stewart were last seen together on the London theatre scene in Samuel Beckett's production Waiting for Godot, which they also performed in repertory with No Man's Land in New York last year.
However, they have yet to bring No Man's Land to the West End and, in the words of McKellen, "we both want to".
"We’re planning it very carefully, because we have schedules to come to terms with."
Big-name projects that the acting veterans must make time for over the coming months include the X-Men films, with which they are both involved, and the second series of Vicious, which McKellen will be shooting with Derek Jacobi next year.
Stewart also has a film and two television shows to shoot in the US, which may delay the new production to 2016.
In No Man's Land, two elderly writers who have met in a London pub take the drinking back home and talk well into the night before being disturbed by two younger men in an absurdist drama that has long been considered one of Pinter's most entertaining plays.
Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley, who starred alongside the leads on Broadway, will reportedly not be travelling across the pond and will be re-cast for the new production.
