Macbeth to be performed by amateurs at the Courtyard Theatre
Date Posted: 06/07/12
Amateur theatre company, Edinburgh Theatre Arts, is to perform its take on Macbeth at the prestigious Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon this month.
The Scottish organisation is to be joined on stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company to perform Macbeth in Scots, which is, as the name suggests, performed entirely in the language Scots.
Fans of the classic Shakespeare show should book short breaks to the Greater London theatre for Saturday, July 14th to catch the exciting show that earned rave reviews north of the border.
Typically, the Courtyard Theatre does not have amateur productions on its stage, but IT worker Danny Faramond will be breaking the tradition as he takes on the titular role.
Edinburgh Theatre Arts has been in operation since the post-war 1940s, with talented director Charles Johnston laying a lot of the groundwork down the company's future success.
In 70 years the company has created shows for many of the industry's most popular events and theatres north and south of the border.
