It is now less than one year until the start of the London Olympics 2012, with Lord Coe hailing a tremendous team effort as the milestone passes.
The opening ceremony takes place in front of sports fans booking London hotels on Friday July 27th, and former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is set to be part of the celebrations, according to the Daily Mirror.
Looking ahead to the event, chairman of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Lord Coe said: "As organisers, we have a great team working on the Games. Everyone understands the privilege of working on the world’s greatest event and is determined not to let down the athletes, the spectators, their team-mates and 60 million members of the UK public - our biggest stakeholders."
Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee, added that London 2012 is set to not only deliver top sporting competition but to leave a "great legacy to the British people".
