Howard Webb and Graeme McDowell named on New Year Honours List

World Cup final referee Howard Webb has been named on the New Year Honours List, alongside Ryder Cup golf hero Graeme McDowell.
Webb was one of the few Englishmen to perform to the best of his ability during the South Africa tournament, with the national side going out to Germany after a disappointing campaign.
He took charge of a fiercely contested final between Spain and the Netherlands, with a late goal from Andres Iniesta swinging the tie the Spaniard's way.
Webb's next big date could be in front of those booking London hotels for the Carling Cup final, which takes place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday February 27th.
McDowell became the first European golfer in 40 years to win the US Open, when he triumphed at Pebble Beach earlier this year.
He also went on to sink the winning putt as he carried the European team home against the US in the Ryder Cup.
"It is a huge honour for me to be included on the New Year Honours List. For my achievements as a professional golfer to be recognised in this way is truly special. Both myself and my family are very proud of this unique acknowledgement," said the Northern Irishman.
