Home and Away's Ray Meagher returns to Priscilla
Date Posted: 27/06/11
Long-serving Home and Away star Ray Meagher is returning to the UK to play the role of mechanic Bob in Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical later this year.
In 2010 he spent six months in the production at the Palace theatre, having also appeared in the Sydney version of the play.
He will now reprise his role from Wednesday October 5th in front of those booking London theatre breaks at the Palace.
Meagher is the longest serving member of any Australian television programme having taken the role of Alf Stewart in Summer Bay in 1988.
He is no stranger to the British stage, and has appeared in a number of Christmas pantomimes over the years.
"The first time I saw the stage show I thought, God, it’s just fantastic. I went to see it and I was just blown away. I thought it was an absolutely amazing night out, and my opinion hasn’t changed since," he told Official London Theatre before making his West End debut last year.
Priscilla has been given a host of positive reviews since hitting London, and it is described as "extravagant", "riotous", "addictive" and "entertaining".
