Hampstead Theatre announces spring productions

North London's Hampstead Theatre has announced two new productions for its Spring 2015 season in the main stage, and drama enthusiasts are in for a treat.
According to the venue's press department, the season will kick off with a transfer from the Hampstead Downstairs entitled Hello/Goodbye, which was written by Peter Souter.
Running from January 21st until February 28th, the production will feature Shaun Evans and Miranda Raison and be directed by Tamara Harvey. It originally ran at the Main Stage of the Hampstead Downstairs in 2013.
The venture is Peter Souter's first stage play. He originally made his name in television, and he describes Hello/Goodbye as a "metropolitan guide to falling in (and out of) love". Other works by the writer include Married, Single, Other for television and several BBC Radio Four plays.
Hello/Goodbye will be replaced by Stevie, which transfers direct from the Chichester Festival Theatre where it has been garnering plenty of acclaim. Nationally renowned star of the stage and screen Zoe Wanamaker will take on the title role.
The play offers a biographical snapshot of adored poet Stevie Smith, providing the audience with a glimpse into what it must have been like to have been an unconventional hero.
It will run at the Hampstead's Main Space from March 6th until April 18th, with the official opening taking place on March 16th.
Those who want to snap up tickets to both productions are advised to act quickly as the Hampstead Theatre's ever-rotating showlist is known to be exceptionally popular. Public booking for both of the shows will open later this week, on November 28th.
