Girls Aloud are hoping to land a gig at the 2012 Olympic Games in London as part of their tenth anniversary celebrations.
The Sun reported that the group had hoped to play at Glastonbury next year, however, the famous music festival is taking a break for a year because of the Games coming to the UK.
Those booking hotels near The O2 arena could also get to see the likes of Coldplay and The Rolling Stones in action as sporting fever approaches in 2012.
A source told newspaper: "The girls are getting very excited. The promoters are only looking to book massive, show-stopping acts, which they would be perfect for.
"They would tick the pop box while The Rolling Stones would appeal to a much wider audience."
Recently, it was reported that Cheryl Cole could make a return to the group, alongside Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding, to take part in the band's anniversary.
