Lenny Henry is preparing to make his debut for the National Theatre when he stars in The Comedy of Errors at the Olivier theatre later this year.
The funnyman, who co-founded Comic Relief, has made his name by starring in Chef! and Hope and Glory, while he also picked up the 2009 Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his performance of Othello.
He will now appear in Dominic Cooke's production in front of those booking London theatre breaks from November, running throughout the Christmas period.
According to Playbill.com, Cooke, who is the artistic director at the Royal Court, will also be making his National Theatre debut with this play.
Chris Jarman, a star of Sister Act, will join Henry in the cast for The Comedy of Errors, which tells the story of two sets of twin brothers who are unaware that their sibling is living in the same city.
