Four Shakespearean classics to be staged in York
Date Posted: 05/06/13
There are a variety of York hotels to choose from for those looking for short breaks in this picturesque city, and a variety of things to do when you get there!
For example, if you want to experience the drama of some of the best known historical plays of all time, why not take a trip to York?
Between November 19th and November 30th, the York Theatre Royal is set to play host to a staging of Richard III, a tale about one of England's most famous monarchs of the past, and his eventual downfall.
It's a gripping play which is sure to appeal to fans of classic theatre. Though it can be watched as a standalone piece, the York Theatre Royal is also hosting performances of Shakespeare's three plays about Henry VI earlier in the year, which lead up to Richard III chronologically, between June 26th and July 13th.
The Henry VI plays - tickets for which are still available - are being staged at the theatre prior to a transfer to the Globe Theatre in London.
All four of these pieces would no doubt make for a truly exciting experience as part of a short break!
