Flashdance production is 'shamelessly good fun'

Flashdance could become a London theatre breaks classic, as it is full of "shameless good fun", according to one review.
Quentin Letts, writing for the Daily Mail, said that the Shaftesbury Theatre production has enough energy for a Lucozade factory, adding that it is "manipulative, hackneyed, sexist and noisy".
He reserved praise for Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, who plays the role of Alex, stating that she is a "belter" in the musical.
"Miss Hamilton-Barritt is tremendous and ensures that this show should be at least as popular with teenage boys as hen parties. What with all the other glamorous belly buttons and upper haunches on display, it was just as well my 13-year-old son was not in the auditorium," Mr Letts said.
The reviewer went on to say that the show is "much better than it probably need be", claiming that it is a great recession-buster of a night out.
Recently, former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips told the Guardian that she has found her time choreographing Flashdance to be "fun and exciting", with the 67-year-old adding that she is not planning on slowing down anytime soon.
