Evita Set for London Return
Date Posted: 30/06/14
Classic musical Evita, which tells the story of Argentina’s first lady Eva Peron, is due to return to London this year for a limited run at the Dominion Theatre.
Marti Pellow, former Wet Wet Wet frontman, takes to the stage as Che, while Madalena Alberto plays the starring role.
Many of the songs from the musical were made famous when Madonna played the dictator’s wife in the movie version, with hits like Don’t Cry for Me Argentina and You Must Love Me among the best-known tunes from the production.
Previews for Evita will start from Tuesday September 16th, with opening night on Monday September 22nd. The show will close on Saturday November 1st, so anyone who wants to see Evita during a theatre break in the capital will need to move fast to book tickets.
Once Evita departs from the Dominion Theatre, the venue will host its festive offering White Christmas, which stars Aled Jones and Tom Chambers.
