ENB announces Christmas season at the London Coliseum
Date Posted: 10/08/12

The English National Ballet (ENB) has announced that The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty will be brought to the London Coliseum as part of the Christmas season, with Tamara Rojo at the helm as artistic director.
Ballet fans with a festive fever should book theatre breaks in London between Wednesday, December 12th and Saturday, January 5th to see Wayne Eagling's production of the The Nutcracker.
It is the 11th adaptation of The Nutcracker since the ENB first performed it in 1950. It tells the story of Clara who is given a gift of a nutcracker by Godfather Drosselmeyer, leading to very unusual things to happen on the fateful Christmas Eve.
Keeping the Christmas spirit going throughout January, ENB's Kenneth MacMillan's choreographed version of The Sleeping Beauty will open between Wednesday, January 9th and Saturday, January 19th.
The production tells the story of Princess Aurora who has been cursed to 100 years of sleep. The ballet was brought back by ENB in 2005 and featured at the Coliseum in 2008.
