Emmerdale's Charlie Hardwick to star in The Awkward Squad
Date Posted: 08/12/11
Emmerdale star Charlie Hardwick has been named in the cast of The Awkward Squad, which opens at the Arts theatre next year.
The production will welcome those booking London theatre breaks from Thursday March 8th, following previews from Tuesday March 6th.
It will stay at the venue until Saturday April 7th as part of a UK-wide tour.
The play tells the story of Lorna (Barbara Marten), who is looking forward to being given an honorary PhD. However, her daughters and granddaughter descend on her and throw up a host of problems, leaving Lorna to consider becoming a fully paid-up member of the awkward squad.
Hardwick, who plays the role of Sandy, is best known for her appearances as Val Lambert in Emmerdale, while she has also starred in films Billy Elliot, Purely Belter and The Scar.
Marten will be familiar to fans of Casualty, having played Eve Montgomery in the medical drama, and the pair will also be joined by Libby Davison and Lisa McGrills.
