Coronation Street's Bill Ward cast in Million Dollar Quartet
Date Posted: 30/12/10
Former Coronation Street star Bill Ward will play the role of influential music producer Sam Phillips in a new West End Musical titled Million Dollar Quartet.
Those booking London theatre breaks will be able to see the 43-year-old, who won two British Soap Awards as Charlie Stubbs, at the Noel Coward Theatre from Monday February 28th.
In his new role, Ward will be the Sun Records boss, who managed to bring together the quartet of Elvis Pressley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Million Dollar Quartet is currently playing on Broadway and in Chicago, and is inspired by events which took place in December 1956 in Memphis.
The production will feature over 20 of the greatest rock 'n' roll, gospel and country hits for the audience to enjoy.
Also upcoming at the Noel Coward Theatre in January is The Cherry Orchard, which is performed in Russian but with English subtitles.
