Comedian Omid Djalili to star in What the Butler Saw
Date Posted: 28/02/12
The British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili is returning to London once again to star in Joe Orton's nonsensical comedy What the Butler Saw.
He will be leading the cast in the production that will run at the Vaudeville Theatre from Friday, May 4th to Saturday, August 25th.
Those looking for summer theatre breaks in London can look forward to the series of twists, turns and hilarious one-liners in the playwright's final piece of work.
Orton completed the play only a month before his tragic death, aged 34.
It is not the only Orton work to get a contemporary reimagination. Both Loot and Entertaining Mr Sloane have been produced in London over the last few years.
Djalili, who has only just finished his stand-up tour of the UK, has appeared on stage as Fagin in a recent revival of Oliver! But he is perhaps better known for his roles in the Hollywood films The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
