Celebrate St David’s Day in Cardiff
Date Posted: 06/02/14
Where better to celebrate the Welsh national day of St David than in the capital of Wales itself - Cardiff?
On March 1st, Cardiff will come alive with a whole host of Welsh-themed entertainment, including the National St David's Day Parade. The parade is an opportunity for people to enjoy a creative and imaginative celebration of Welsh heritage and culture.
This year the Parade will start outside Cardiff City Hall and at 12.30pm will travel down Kingsway to St John Street, into Working Street, down The Hayes to Mill Lane, then along St Mary Street and High Street, through the gate of Cardiff Castle and into the castle grounds.
Revellers will be treated to live music from traditional Welsh bands in the grounds of Cardiff Castle until 4pm. In the evening visitors will be encouraged to retreat to the local bars and taverns around the city, where more musical entertainment and Welsh dancing will take place.
If you want to make a short break of it and explore more of what Cardiff has to offer, such as visiting Cardiff Bay and shopping in the atmospheric Edwardian and Victorian arcades, then there’s a great choice of Cardiff hotels to choose from.
