Britten Opera 'Death in Venice' to hit The Grand, Leeds
Date Posted: 12/08/13
Thomas Mann's well-known book 'Death in Venice' forms the inspiration for an opera of the same name that is due to be staged in Leeds later this year.
The 20th Century composer Benjamin Britten adapted the story into an operatic version, a production of which is due to hit The Grand in the city this October. It will be staged from October 17th to October 25th this year, and tickets are still available to see the opera.
Opera fans can also book to attend pre-show talks, which are free and happen an hour before most of the performances of the opera being staged.
Other Britten operas, such as his version of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' are also hitting The Grand this year, as part of the Festival of Britten.
If you're planning to attend one, it could be a good idea to look into short breaks in Leeds and book a hotel for your trip.
