Britons lead French charge ahead of Wimbledon
Date Posted: 26/05/11
Three Britons will attempt to qualify for the last 32 of the French Open today, with all of them looking to find form ahead of the Wimbledon Championships.
Andy Murray will take on Italy's Simone Bolelli with Elena Baltacha meeting Vania King, while Heather Watson will go up against Kaia Kanepi.
The success of the Brits so far is particularly pleasing just three weeks ahead of tennis fans booking London hotels to see their favourite stars on Wimbledon's hallowed turf.
"I've played him a couple of times and had a close match with him on clay a couple of years ago in Madrid. He hasn't been playing so well the last year-and-a-half or so but he's a very talented guy and similar to [Eric] Prodon," said Murray of his opponent.
Wimbledon will get underway on Monday June 20th, with the eagerly anticipated draw being made on Friday June 17th.
Some of the top male players in the world will descend on London early next month for the AEGON Championships at the Crown Club.
