British boxing frenzy as DeGale and Cleverly step into The O2 ring
Date Posted: 20/04/11

James DeGale is looking to take another step towards becoming a world champion when he fights George Groves in London next month.
The pair will go head-to-head in front of those booking hotels near The O2 arena on Saturday May 21st, with the contest also being picked up by Sky Box Office.
DeGale's fight is part of a card which also includes Nathan Cleverly taking on Juergen Braehmer for the WBO World Light-Heavyweight title.
Referring to a contest when they were amateurs, DeGale said of his British and Commonwealth Super-Middleweight Championship fight: "The bottom line for Groves is that he’s chinny. And I promise I will expose that. He got knocked out as an amateur, he got dropped in training by Carl Froch and he was all over the place in his second to last fight with Kenny Anderson."
In 2008, DeGale represented Britain at the Olympics, taking home a gold medal in the middleweight division.
