Amy Winehouse play set to open in Copenhagen
Date Posted: 26/10/12

A play which centres around the life of the singer Amy Winehouse is to open in Copenhagen next year.
Those planning on taking weekend breaks in the city could be able to catch a show, which tells the story of Amy's life, as she tried to cope with hitting musical stardom, and features music from her albums, Frank and Back to Black.
Organisers have said the show will focus primarily on "the enormous pressure a sensationalist public put on a young superstar when her problems began" with the run getting underway on Wednesday, January 30th at the Danish Royal Theatre.
Twenty-nine-year-old actress Johanne Louise Schmidt is to take the role of Amy, who passed away at the age of 27 in July 2011.
In February of this year, Amy was voted in at number 26 on VH1's 100 Greatest Women In Music poll, demonstrating her popularity and respect within the world of music.
