Alton Towers reveal Sanctuary maze during 2012's Scarefest

Alton Towers Resort has revealed that it will be bringing a new attraction to this year's annual Halloween-themed Scarefest, a scare maze entitled Sanctuary.

The terrifying maze will be found in the park's X Sector where guests will visit an abandoned facility that features a very frightful twist. It has been rumoured that inside there were experiments on humans in the early 20th century by a force called the Ministry of Joy.

There is little else known about the new attraction, but Katherine Duckworth, head of consumer marketing at Alton Towers, has assured thrillseekers it will make Scarefest more terrifying than ever.

She has also suggested that people taking short breaks to the Halloween event will be able to preview Sanctuary before it is opened to the public next March.

Scarefest runs on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th and then between Friday, October 19th and Wednesday, October 31st.
