Alistair McGowan steps into Rupert Everett's shoes in Pygmalion
Date Posted: 24/06/11
Comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan will take over from Rupert Everett in the role of Henry Higgins in theatre breaks favourite Pygmalion.
He will star alongside Kara Tointon and Diana Rigg in the production, which is currently running at the Garrick theatre.
McGowan will appear for the last three weeks of the show, which is set to close on Saturday September 3rd.
It tells the story of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle who is taken under the wing of Higgins after betting that he can turn her from a diamond in the rough to a society lady.
While McGowan has made his name in television, with shows like The Big Impression, he is also no stranger to the stage, having appeared in Little Shop of Horrors and They're Playing Our Song.
The Garrick theatre will also be home to Potted Potter from Thursday August 18th, giving fans of the Harry Potter series a fun look at all seven books in a 70-minute show.
