Alexei Sayle to Return to Edinburgh Fringe
Date Posted: 14/03/13
Comedian Alexei Sayle is to perform at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the first time in almost 20 years, it has been announced.
The 60-year-old will play the 200-seater Stand 3 for the festival's final two weeks, performing the show he's been touring around the UK since last year, reports chortle.co.uk.
The news was first revealed by The Stand's owner Tommy Sheppard in an interview with Scottish broadcaster STV.
During the interview, he also announced that Stewart Lee, Sarah Millican, Brendon Burns, Tony Law and Simon Evans will be on the venue's line-up for this year's Fringe, which runs from August 2nd to 26th.
A number of other performers have also been confirmed at appearing at the festival this summer, including the likes of comedians Ed Byrne and Gyles Brandreth and spoken word artist Scroobius Pip.
Meanwhile, those planning on visiting the Scottish capital during the festival should book hotels in Edinburgh sooner rather than later, as these tend to fill up quickly.
