A cosmopolitan city with over 20 Centuries of history, Lisbon is the largest city in Portugal. The ancient quarters still offer spectacular architecture such as St. Georges Castle. The coastline is filled with stylish beach resorts and the nightlife is centred around the many bars, discos and clubs.

THe Hotel Marques de Pumbal was perfect - the location ideal - on the main axis, but very quet with excellent double glazing. the staff were very friendly, and the food very good. I would very highly recommend staying here.

Short Break in Estoril

Estoril is easy to get to by train from Lisbon (< 2 euros) and just 20mins.walk along the promenade to Cascais. Lots of musical/sailing events in the summer and don't forget the wonderful heritage site at Sintra 20mins. by bus from Estoril (get a day rover ticket). Seafood/wine plentiful, cheap and delicious. The 2 restaurants we recommend are tucked away but worth finding.
