City of Rome

Stay Date: 14/10/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* The Church Village in Rome wrote this review.

The Hotel Torra Rossa ia about 2-3 miles from the Vatican. Bus service either 881 or 96 runs frequently. The Hotel supplies a map with all the major sights i.e. the Castel Sant Angelo, Piazza See More  Read more information Navoria, Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo etc. The Hotel has a good selection of hot and cold breakfast foods, does do evening meal but I ate out in town. Eating out in town can be expensive especially near themain attractions. A simple small bottle of soda can cost 7 euro's, the same can be purchased from a street vendor or supermarket for less than 3 euro's. The shopping experience is wonderful, Iespecially liked the shopping centre near the Piazza del Popolo for it's range of stores. For cat lovers there is the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary which is located in the heart of Rome. The cats liveamongst the ancient temples and are looked after by staff who care for the animals needs. One of my favourite places, plus there are free archeological tours.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend in Venice

Stay Date: 24/01/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Walton-On-Thames who stayed at 4* Boscolo Bellini Non Refundable in Venice wrote this review.

We arrived by bus in the dark with no clue which direction to take. The locals were very helpful and we found our accommodation adjacent to the railway station. The Hotel staff could not have tried See More  Read more information harder to make the stay perfect. We found the water bound buss service a little confusing with many different stops next to each other, with the boats coming and going in both directions. However, once you have used the service it becomes simple, so dont worry purchase a day ticket and just go for it. A lot to see and do in Venice but it is a cultural stop. Great Trip, thank you   Collapse  Hide

Rome Break

Stay Date: 03/03/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* The Church Palace in Rome wrote this review.

The Hotel is in pleasant and quiet parkland. The public areas are currently being renovated, so there was no bar or restaurant facilities, but this did not spoil our stay. I would recommend this See More  Read more information hotel because it combines a peaceful escape from the bustle with close transport facilities. You can be in the centre of Rome within 15 minutes.   Collapse  Hide

3 Days in Venice

Stay Date: 09/06/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Swardeston who stayed at 4* Boscolo Bellini Non Refundable in Venice wrote this review.

Stayed at the Boscolo Bellini. Nice twin room as requested, no view but very quiet, with great air conditioning. Very easy walk from the bus station once we had got our bearings. It is very near the See More  Read more information train station, and the vaporetto stops. Lots of small restaurants and Brek a fun self service place was just a few doors down. Getting the vaporetto down to St Marks Square showed you most of Venicein one trip. Get a 1/2/3 day pass for the vaporetto, it is much cheaper than water taxis, and the slow ride gives you time to look at everything on the way. There are a lot of deals for young peopleunder 25 as well. We did do a gondola ride, but it is expensive. However I think you should do it once in your life! Overall it was a great place to visit with my 21 year old son. Just try to soak upthe beautiful city without overloading yourself with every museum etc. Murano was a bit disappointing, except for the wonderful cafes and fabulous weather. Venice almost looks better at night than inthe day, beautifully lit up and a bit more peaceful.   Collapse  Hide

Good Weekend in Rome

Stay Date: 15/08/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Pace Helvezia in Rome wrote this review.

Hotel had lovely big rooms and was in a great area, very close to Rome`s sights. Able to get to and from hotel using buses, booked while on the plane. No cars in main central area so safe with See More  Read more information family members to walk leisurely. Enjoyed walking round Rome, really relaxing atmosphere despite being in a capital. Food is lovely, everywhere you go-cheap or pricey places both good! Night life reallynice - music playing as you meander around side streets and along Tiber river. Incredible place to visit.   Collapse  Hide
