To be in Swiss and have 2 or 3 cheese option is unacceptable... no ham or others sliceds. The bedroom very small for a rate of US$ 300+. Cleaness with no problem. Collapse

We are family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. The location is superb, it's about 7 minutes walks from the main Zurich HB train station. It's walking distance from all the major attractions. We were put up in the new wing, which has only 4 floors. So we didn't have great views, but it was better for us as the rooms in the new wing are bigger. Being a Platinum member with Marriott, we were treated like royalty. We had access to the executive lounge for breakfast buffet from 6:30 am- 11:00 am, as well as to hot appetizers in the pm from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. That helps a lot especially in a place like Switzerland where, like most are aware of, food and eating out is not inexpensive. The lounge got crowded at times, but we always found seating within a few minutes. The variety of food both for breakfast and appetizers was phenomenal. Entire staff - at the reception, concierge, executive lounge, housekeeping - was extremely courteous, attentive, and helpful. Small gesture that really touched our hearts- they had umbrellas at the reception that guests could borrow on rainy days. Came in very handy for us given the unpredictable weather pattern there. We will definitely go back and stay at this hotel when we visit Zurich again! Collapse

Like living in a slum!

My husband and I took a month to travel through Switzerland, a trip I worked on for a year! We used trains, boats, ferries and public transportation to travel between cities so choosing hotels in each destination was carefully thought out with respect to the distance from the train station. And whenever I found a Marriott hotel I tried to book it so we could use our Marriott points as well. Zurich Marriott fit the bill perfectly, being just minutes from the train station. Our room was lovely and large and had all the luxuries expected of a Marriott. But the people in room next door lowered the standards of the hotel to that of a Baghdad slum! There must have been numerous persons staying in the room, including children of all ages. They kept the door open throughout the day and the odors of middle eastern cooking hit like a brick as we exited the elevators. A toddler was allowed to run the hallways and play right in front of the landing of the elevators. Our door faced the elevators and was at a right angle to the door of their room and we couldn't help but hear voices of children and adults quarreling or laughing loudly or yelling down the hallway to a child playing out in the hall. Numerous pieces of luggage, children's toys and boxes containing unknown items sat outside their door in the hallway, apparently to make more room inside for all their crowd. It looked like this group had friends ualso staying in the hotel and there were men, women and children coming and going all day and night. Outside of other doors in our hallway guests kept their strollers and children's toys. It was like living in a village slum, with neighbors calling out to each other from room to room, visiting each other and chasing after their kids. On the last night at about 11 pm we had to call the front desk to request someone from the hotel intervene because the children were running amuck in the hallways. Things quieted down for a bit but very early the next morning the door was again open, the cooking resumed and the kids were running up and down the hall. I assume all this was well known to management because I noticed the hotel maids were denied access to the room and were only asked to supply towels and soap. Besides, who could miss the smells of cooking! This entire episode cast a shadow over our Zurich experience and reflects very poorly on Marriott management. I will concede that it's difficult sometimes to have control over what guests do in their room however it's imperative that management assume control over the number of persons sleeping in a room; that they absolutely prohibit in room cooking and insist that guests keep their belongings inside the rooms so the hallways are clear. Marriott staff at this hotel dropped the ball and it's not an experience I would like to repeat. Collapse

This is a very nice hotel with spacious luxurious rooms. When we checked in, I noticed a lot of things weren't quite right, but was tired and fell into bed for a nap. The toilet seat was askew, the sink was stopped up (with a cap in the drain), there was "towel fluff" in the bathtub, there was a whole cake from another hotel on one of the shelves, there was a large plastic bag in a cupboard, a bobby pin was on the floor by the bed, there was a bit of plastic bag between the bed & night stand.
