We stayed here for one night before our trip to Key West on the Express ferry. Beach was spectacular, restaurants on site very good. Room was small for the price but it is winter tourist season in FL. Personal was very courteous and helped us with some recommendations. Stairwells had pieces of trash and was there for our stay. For the price, I would expected better building paint and room accommodations. Collapse

Right on a very wide part of the beach. Rooms are ok as the hotel is somewhat dated. The main problem, especially during the busy season in the winter is the traffic. They are doing long term construction on the main road and traffic would back up for 4 miles into and out of the area. Not sure why they can't accelerate the construction but they chose not to. The hotel has a fun tiki bar and restaurant on site. They had live music each night we were there. Collapse

Our stay was very good. Food was great and the view was great. Check in time should be earlier like most other hotels.

Although this is an older resort, it's kind of a 'survivor' among many condo highrise buildings surrounding it. Our room was in need of an update, although it was clean. The beds were comfortable and it was helpful having a microwave & small refrigerator in the room. Free WiFi was available throughout the hotel, including poolside. The front desk staff was very efficient, from checking us in, to supplying us with towels. The pool was nice & warm, but more lounge chairs are needed to accommodate guests. We did find out from a woman around the pool one day that her condo across the street was allowed to use this pool, so that doesn't help the chair problem. There's a Pinchers restaurant on site & it was nice for grabbing a bite around the pool, or eating out on their deck. The food was very good & quite reasonably priced. We stayed at the Wyndham for 10 days, so we even had breakfast on their patio one morning. The Wyndham is within walking distance to a pharmacy and strip mall that has several restaurants and shops. A Publix is a bit further, but we had a rental car and were able to stock up on some groceries. The Wyndham has beach frontage, but it's a bit of a walk to the Gulf as you can see from their main photo The sand was packed down, so it was easy to walk on, but there are no beach chairs supplied. Someone mentioned cabanas were available for rent but we spent most of our time around the pool. People trying to reserve pool lounge chairs by placing towels and not being there for hours is a problem. There was live entertainment several nights at the Pinchers, so if you enjoy that, it's available. If you want less noise, don't reserve a poolside room! The music doesn't go very late, but it is loud. There's a parking problem for hotel guests when returning from dinner on some nights because nonguests there for the entertainment are using hotel guest spaces. One night we had to park away from our room, and the management knows this is a problem. When we let them know that evening at the front desk, they offered to help us find a spot, but we were able to on our own. Marking spaces in front of the rooms as hotel guests only would alleviate some of the problem. We picked the Wyndham because we're Wyndham reward members and it was reasonably priced compared to others in the area right on the beach. There was construction on Estero Blvd while we were there, which we heard is ongoing, so you need to allow extra drive time, especially in the evening. Collapse
