Westminster Hotel - Opera Non Refundable
4 4 Star:
Per Person Per Night
Even in Paris, some hotels seem more Parisian than others. The Hotel Westminster, despite its regal English name, is such a place. Intimate, close and convivial, from the Haussmannian facade to the flowered, serene patio, the property exudes a joie de vivre. Located amongst the prestigious addresses of the high fashion and jewellery district, the four-star Hotel Westminster is a stone’s throw from the Place Vendome, the Opera and the Tuileries gardens. For more than 200 years, the hotel on calm and quiet La Rue de la Paix has welcomed everyone from royalty – like the Duke of Westminster, from whom it takes its name – to those wanting to discover the art of living.
Drawing from classical periods of French history, from Louis XV and Louis XVI to Napoleon III and Regency, the Hotel Westminster is as timeless as it is distinctive and sophisticated. Each of the 80 air-conditioned guest rooms and 22 suites ranging from Superior to the Vendome Apartments is decorated to perfection with accoutrements like brilliant crystal, elegant dressing tables, exquisite Toile de Jouy wall hangings and marble mantelpiece fireplaces. The result is comfortable, fashionable and historical.
A million words could never paint an accurate portrait of Paris. A true daydream of a city, it lives and breathes in both quiet romantic moments and in bold displays of the world’s finest art, food and sightseeing. As for Hotel Westminster, the most prestigious neighbourhood in all of Paris is directly outside the door. Steps away, legendary shops line the Place Vendome and Rue de la Paix, including Cartier, Mellerio dits Meller, Van Cleef & Arpels among others.

I admit. I didn't have to make this last trip to Paris, but the prospect of spending time at my favourite hotel helped make up my mind. Aside from a perfect location near the Louvre, spacious rooms and excellent facilities that include a spa and outstanding bar and restaurant, the thing that makes this hotel stand out is it's people. I have mentioned some of the staff by name in the past, Katarina, Nicolas, Jean-Charles and others but if anyone wants to understand real hospitality they have to meet Lidia. There is nothing that is too much trouble and it's reached a stage where she knows what I want before I even ask for it. And I'm not alone. On my frequent visits I have had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people from all over the world who swear by the Westminster. On my last visit I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Traore the General Manager and after 5 minutes it became clear why the hotel is as successful as it is. I have met hotel managers in the past and many of them find it necessary to impress upon you how important they are. That's fine and I'm sure they are. But I left Mr Traore with the feeling that I was important. And that's what this hotel is all about. Making people feel welcome, and important. I thought twice about writing this review because for me the Westminster has become like a hidden treasure that I'm not sure that I would like to share. Next time you visit Paris, try the Westminster. You won't be disappointed. Collapse

I stayed here with my partner on Birthday in November, he booked it as a surprise. On arrival I was welcomed by a very helpful receptionist who congratulated me on my celebration and arrange for a bottle of champagne in our room. We were upgraded to a suite for the night which was absolutely stunning and full of charming character. The bed was so comfortable and my room was extremely quiet. I had a very nice breakfast in the morning and there was plenty of choice and variety. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. Very central and surrounded by amazing shops. The hotel suggested some good restaurants but I stuck to my DK guide which didn't let me down. I highly recommend this hotel, it's a hidden gem and very easy to get to from the metro. I will definitely be returning in the future and look forward to sleeping in one of your super comfortable beds again. ....... Collapse

This hotel was perfect for my first time in Paris. The room was gorgeous, we got a room that faced the road and it was still quiet! The location was perfect, we were so close to the RER stop so you can get straight to Disney and within 2 minute walk to Opera Metro. I felt confident walking in the area and would happily point everyone to this hotel. The staff at the hotel always wore a smile and were always wanting to assist. If you are trying to choose the best hotel for your trip to Paris. This hotel would definitely be my recommendation! Collapse

This is hotel in a very center of Paris. Better place to stay in the city of lights you cannot imagine. Just few minutes walk from the Opera and Place Vandome. Sightseeing or shopping, dinning or just walking. Pertect. And hotel is old school that remindes one of a times when hotels were faboulous and traveling ment beeing noble. In this hotel you will feel like real aristocrat. Staff is polite just like should be. Every peace of this hotel has unique atmosphere. Large and spacious room with king size bed. And so confortable! Our welcome at the Hotel Westminster was warm and gracious. Lobby large and elegant. Elevator very large by Paris standard as was our room. The appointments were lovely and the bathroom extremely large with bathrobes and nice amenities. The only problem was that this room had a terrible odor, like the people who'd stayed there previously had a ferret with them that had left it's scent all over the entire room. We complained about this and were greeted with a slightly hostile demeanor. We were moved to another room, supposedly the same class, yet this room had two single beds where the ferret room had a king. This room had no seating area and was not as grand as the previous room. At least it didn't smell. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. It was served in a lovely formal dining room off the lobby. We were treated to a wonderful hot buffet, every breakfast item one might want including fresh fruit juices, tea and coffee, cereals, cold cuts ( including a wonderful roast beef), salmon, eggs, cheeses and meats. Of course a variety of freshly baked pastries were offered. We had booked at this hotel partly for the location and partly for the world renown jazz cafe off the lobby. Unfortunately, the jazz was not offered the weekend we were there, but the bar was reminiscent of a private club, dark wood lined with bookshelves and intimate seating surrounded the sadly silent grand piano.
