From the moment you check in you feel the calmness and elegance of this resort. It is principally a golf resort but we were there om business and the Westin La Quinta was ideal also for this purpose. The rooms are huge and comfortable, the views are breathtaking, the personell and food is memorable, basically absolutely nothing was less than perfect. Don't be fooled by the old guest photos available on TripAdvisor. The whole place has been renovated and looks light, new and fresh. Highly recommended if you would like to stay somewhere that isn't on the beach. Collapse

This hotel is lovely: big clean rooms, beautiful pool area, nice food, basically everything you would expect from a Westin. What makes this hotel exceptional however is its staff. Our son has a lot of food allergies which makes travelling difficult. We sent our usual email warning of our arrival and our son's needs and were very surprised to receive a phone call from the catering manager himself. He asked us details about our son's allergies and assured us he would be alerting his staff and taking care of everything himself. He was as good as his word- he greeted us when we came and introduced himself to our son. In fact, everyone knew who our son was and what were his allergies. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant there was a clean plate and cutlery just for him, they cooked the food I asked them to and always triple checked with me before and after his meals. If you have a child with allergies, you will know what I am talking about. It completely took the pressure off and allowed us to have a totally relaxing holiday. I must commend Francisco Roldan the manager, who was exceptional, Alan and the lady who took care of Room Service as well as all the kitchen staff who worked to make our vacation lovely. They were all professional, polite, pro-active and most of all HELPFUL. We have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels- this hotel had the best staff by far. Thank you Westin La Quinta! Collapse

Just returned from The Weston, La Quinta and had a great week. We were a party of three couples, the men played golf and us wives relaxed by the pool. Firstly the golf courses.....our men couldn't praise these enough, they were more than impressed with the attention received, from having their clubs cleaned after each game to the golf buggy being ready and waiting with the said clean clubs, they were very happy men. On our arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was really helpful. Our large bedrooms all overlooked the golf course, the bed was enormous and really comfortable, plenty of hanging space and drawers in the wardrobes. The bathroom was lovely, a bath, separate shower and his and hers wash basins plus bathrobes and slippers for our use. The room had a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities (lovely coffee machine) and each day a bottle of water was left which was a nice touch. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board were in the room too plus a security safe. Breakfast was just lovely, plenty of choice and any dietary requirements were catered for. I'm not a coffee drinker but the coffee was delicious as were the tempting cakes and pastries on offer....who could resist! We ate lunch at the golf club and at the pool bar, lovely food and plenty of it and served by friendly staff. The prices were slightly cheaper at the pool bar! We used the restaurant on a couple of occasions and all thought the food was delicious and well presented.....only small gripe we were charged for the small bread rolls and butter offered with our meal, we have never been charged for these elsewhere. The Bar in the hotel had a Moroccan feel and on one evening had entertainment which was nice. We didn't partake in the Spa facilities as we felt the prices were a little higher than we wanted to pay but it certainly was a lovely place....next time maybe. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun beds and towels provided each day, there is a life guard on hand too. The hotel runs a shuttle bus into Porta Banus or Marbella each day (last bus home though is around 9:00pm). Most evenings we had this bus to ourselves and the driver was very friendly. We weren't too impressed with Porta Banus or Marbella as it has been taken over by the younger generation with lots of hen and stag parties. We all had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend this hotel for golfers and non golfers alike. We will certainly be returning in the future. Collapse

We had to change rooms three times. The first room was directly adjacent to the seating area for the bar, hardly child friendly for our 4 and 7 year old who wanted to sit in the balcony while others were drinking and smoking a few feet away. It also had a stained, dirty duvet. The second room had a red stained robe and sea of ants so they had to move us to a third room. Very disappointing for a supposed 5 Star hotel. Little acknowledgement for the inconvenience caused from having to unpack and repack twice with two young children and zero compensation offered. Will not be going back. Collapse
