Amazing can't say much more. Mentioned our anniversary at time of check in and had wine and cheese in our room. Very clean and fresh morning breakfast was unbelievable. Staff very friendly. Can't say anything negitive.

Management should be ashamed of themselves.

I stayed at this property last weekend for a bachelorette party. Our stay was enjoyable until the final morning when we discovered a gift (expensive hand-painted champagne glasses) for the bride was missing. We searched and determined housekeeping must've taken them as they were sitting near the trashcan. We called to find out where the dumpsters were, as they were truly that important to the bride that her bridesmaids would search for them. We were told that the trash from the prior day would have already been emptied. Upon check out, we informed the girl at the front desk (whose name I wish I had gotten - she had dark hair and was working the morning of 6/12) of the situation. We believed they had been mistaken as trash and thrown away because they were boxed up and in a bag. She stepped away from the front desk and said she would call the Head of Housekeeping to investigate the matter further. When she returned, she said that what we were purporting simply "could not be true" because housekeeping had not serviced our room the entire stay, that housekeeping records all rooms serviced. We explained that while we had not asked for a formal cleaning, each day a housekeeper would enter our room (witnessed by multiple people in our party) to provide us with new towels. And each time they asked if we would like the trash taken out, and we said yes. The front desk agent continually insisted that our room hadn't been serviced and our story was impossible. In essence, she continually insisted that we were lying. We were incredulous! I have worked in hospitality (including luxury hotels) for over 7 years. I have never witnessed such a startling display of insulting and disrespectful behavior from a hospitality worker. We were on a tight timeline, so we had to leave with the issue unresolved. We pursued the matter further on our trip home - we called and spoke with another manager who said we would receive a call back shortly. When we didn't receive a call back by 6pm that day, we called again and asked for the GM to return our call the next day. It took the bride yelling at two different people to receive any reimbursement. Managment insisted their housekeepers had turned in $10,000 before and had no reason to believe they would take our champagne glasses. Even upper management was insisting we were lying! The bride repeatedly explained that they didn't take the glasses on purpose but were mistaken for trash. It was an honest mistake but it needed to be acknowledged and addressed. Management begrudgingly reimbursed her, but not without continually insulting her and making her feel like she was in the wrong. As a hospitality professional, I'm appalled by the dismal level of service the management at Margaritaville provides their guests. Every single person involved in the matter should be ashamed of themselves. To call yourselves "hospitality professionals" would be a farce. I've told all of my coworkers at the luxury resort where I work (also in Florida) and I will continue to advise anyone I know not to stay at your establishment. Collapse

the rooms are big and colorful, the location is great and they have a parking garage! the pool is nice but view to water gets blocked by cruise ships on port days. Still it was great and I will go back with the family!

My husband and I returned to Key West again this past May to celebrate our 15 wedding anniversary and we always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have to go visit our good friend and best bartender on the island, Jimmy Magee (or as he's best known as, Mr. Mojito because he makes the BEST Mojito on the island!) Jimmy's a true pro and delivers exceptional service. He works extremely hard and always has a smile on his face. Jimmy knows his audience and never disappoints. I get tired just watching him multi-task in the heat and humidity, running circles around the help who are younger than he is!! Best brunch on the island too! In a transient town like Key West, its reassuring to know that Jimmy will be at Margaretville to make our trip extra special. Thank you for all you do and we can't wait to see you again soon! To whom it may concern, We knew when we got engaged that Margaritavile Hotel was where we were going to have our wedding and reception. We have been several times in the past and fell in love with the hotel and the culture of Key West. The day was truly wonderful other than the problems we had at the end of the event. I'm a very easy going person, which my wedding planner told me several times throughout the process. At the very end of the evening, the rude behavior of the men that were breaking down the event was appalling. I understand that 10:00 pm was cut off time, but minutes after that, these men were breaking down loudly and even rudely looking at my/your guest, making them feel uncomfortable. My sister-in-law was hit by one of the carts they were stacking/throwing chairs on, no apology after. The men almost took it as entertaining. My husband's Aunt, who has a walker, was trying to exit the event using one of two exits but could not because there were chairs being stacked/thrown blocking the walkway. When I asked him to move, he gave me some intense attitude. I, in my wedding dress, had to move the chairs so she could get through. Like I said, I understand that 10:00pm was cut off and it was our fault to play the last song at 10pm, but to run up to the band after he already announced this was the last song, when the dance floor was packed, to just make them stop mid-song was extremely embarrassing. It took a very special moment away from me and my guest for possibly 98 seconds of music. I don't think this would have happened at the local VFW. When the boat was running late bringing guest over to Sunset Keys by almost 25 minutes you didn't here me or my family complain. Because of that, we showed up late to the catamaran cruise and then late to the reception. Everything was so beautiful we didn't care much that the schedule was thrown off by your hotels bad planning. We picked three parts to our wedding. Sunset Key as the wedding site, which was gorgeous. Fury boat cruise, was so much fun and we had fantastic service. Then our reception on the Sunset Deck at your hotel, the most expensive part of our day, which was poor. Food was wonderful but the service was rude and just hurtful towards the end. Drinks were starting to be poured into plastic cups before 9:00pm and the only thing the staff cared about was breaking down the event and going home. Everything was so beautiful and wonderful but to have that rude circus happen at the very end of the event was heart breaking and left a very bad taste. We paid too much money to be treated so poorly. I have reached out to my wedding planner and a manager at the hotel. The manager never even got back with me and my wedding planner just sent an I'm sorry email. My wedding planner was at least thoughtful enough to respond with tons of compliments about our wedding party and guest. She left the party around 8:30pm that night and did not stay to make sure things went smooth. I also talked to the manager on site that evening after the wedding reception, she was very little help in trying to fix the situation or make it better. A wedding is something that you plan and wait a lifetime for, not to be treated poorly and rushed through with no care. And then trying to communicate about the problem and getting no response is just unprofessional. Collapse
