This recently – remodeled hotel has lovely rooms, gracious service, great workout facilities, weird parking, and wretched elevators. It is connected at two (three?) levels with the nice Galleria Mall, at the confluence of the busy North Dallas tollway and the LBJ Freeway. The front desk staff and other members of the hotel team were very gracious, helpful, and prompt. They offer thoughtful and intelligent assistance with guest needs. We enjoyed our nice, quiet room, amazing beds, and peaceful surroundings. There are several three-prong outlets and USB ports around the room. However, if there are more than two of you using the room, you will be jockeying for use of the outlets if you have more than four USB – needing devices. The hotel kindly brought up a small refrigerator for our room, so that we didn't have to mess with the minibar to chill our stuff. The bathroom is very tight, but adequate. There's an unlighted makeup mirror which can be moved for use outside the bathroom. There's also a full length mirror in the hall. Housekeeping is very generous with shampoos and such, so you won't find yourself having to beg for these. They consistently brought us enough towels for our entire group, without us needing to ask for same. I do suggest you bring your own hairdryer because the one provided in the room is not up to the task of extended use to style hair. (It is small, and overheats very quickly, so it takes a long time for it to cool down so that you can finish styling your hair. Bummer.) These hair dryers are a problem at other Westin properties, too. The workout facility is great – – clean, with lots of machines, nice lighting and a pleasant view, lots of magazines, ice water, and towels. No complaints here… and you'll have no excuses for not using this lovely facility, either! The parking situation is awkward. In order to get to the underground (Galleria Mall) parking garage to self-park, you have to walk outside the hotel, around the corner and down some odd stairs. Clearly, the hotel is supposed to offer only valet parking to its guests-- the hotel doesn't even guide guests towards the adjacent FREE mall parking. WARNING: be prepared to shell out for valet parking in November and December because parking (and traffic) in this area is a true nightmare. You will not be able to find parking in this garage during that period. The absolute worst aspect of this hotel while we were there--for almost a week--was the elevator situation. Half the elevators were non-functional most of the time we were there. (One very full elevator reportedly got stuck for awhile between floors. Yikes!) The other half had to service 21 floors during a very busy children's beauty pageant being held at the hotel. We had to wait over 20 minutes to merely get an elevator on our floor. (We actually had to factor the time it would take to travel, from our floor to the lobby via the elevator, into our plans for each day! Heaven forbid you forget something in the room and have to go back up!) Clearly these elevators need either exhaustive servicing or replacement. Perhaps you won't need the stair masters in the gym after all.... The club lounge offers a lovely breakfast, and happy hour, and a nice place to hang out and take in the great view of the prosperous cityscape. We enjoyed a really good, very healthy breakfast which was continually restocked and featured fresh and attractive options. (They feature a Starbucks brew-to-order coffee and lattes machine, real half and half, interesting fresh-squeezed juices, a variety of egg white omelets, several types of sliced fresh fruits, etc.) Big kudos to the charming and attentive Anna who took such good care of us, and other guests in the lounge. One cautionary note: be sure you know the terms of your use of the club lounge, if you avail yourself there of. Only two guests per room are allowed to use the club lounge without an additional charge. Collapse

I'm here now for a conference. The service has been superb! I was at one of my meetings and had all sorts of items in my arms that I had collected during the day when Martha, a Westin employee came by with a bag. She offered me the bag which I graciously accepted and then she put all of my things in it for me. She then noticed my friend who just walked up needed a bag too and she went and got one for her as well. So incredibly attentive! Collapse

We recently stayed here and I have to say so far this has been the nicest Westin property. The rooms were updated and clean and the service from some amazing individuals needs to be recognized. Ashley from the lobby bar was funny, kind and professional.(and even was working on her birthday) Javier was so sweet and patient at check-in &went beyond the call of duty to help me out and Liliana and Ana in the club lounge were so friendly, professional and passionate about how much they loved their job!!! Thank you for having employees that love their job and do it so well!!!(the low turnover speaks volumes to the management at this property) Collapse

When I arrived, it was late in the evening. The staff was friendly. They put me in a small room at first but switched me to the larger guest room that had an ok bathroom. Does have walkin showers but is rather small. The mall is convenient as it is connected to the mall. I had a massage in the room in between meetings. That was just ok. I was freezing as it was cool and rainy outside. I really wanted heat but could never figure out how to get it to come on even when I turned it up to 90. The concierge level breakfast was good and fresh. Fresh fruit and the typical items. There were some hot menu items like croissants and sausage. It was clean and staff were great. The restaurant off the lobby was ok with a limited menu. Will return for the convenience. Collapse
