Yes this hotel could do with an upgrade. But the location, the big gardens, the pool and of course the great staff, make up for it. We had a lovely time there. One evening, we wanted to go to St. Helier, but taxis were very busy. One member of staff said no problem, she asked Jake, another staff, to take us down in his car. Well done, a great example of " at your service ". Collapse

The hotel has beautiful grounds with aviaries, a carp lake & we particularly enjoyed watching the red squirrels coming to feed from the nut holders on the smaller aviary! The 2 pools & hot tub are surrounded by sun loungers & the lawns dotted with relaxing tables, chairs & umbrellas. The hotel itself has a fantastic dining room with excellent choices on both breakfast & dinner menus, we were extremely well looked after by Carlos our waiter for the week for whom nothing was too much trouble It also has a pleasant bar & garden room & a smart reception area. Our twin room was very comfortable but would have been improved with either air conditioning or a ceiling fan to avoid the necessity of having all windows open which resulted in early morning "wake up" calls from the resident Cockerel!! The hotel provides a courtesy bus into St Helier every 20 mins from 9:30 to 12:50, although the final return trip is quite early at 4:10. (taxis are around £7 for those wishing to stay later) However the main reason this hotel is such a great place to stay is the friendly & efficient staff who all do everything they can to ensure you have a great holiday! We visited Jersey to judge the beautiful parks and we were lucky enough to stumble across this hotel. What can I say...a beautiful setting in extensive well tended semi tropical gardens. A simply lovely large heated swimming pool with bar and lunch. A restaurant which was used by residents and locals. Rooms are fine and try to get a pool view across the garden Red squirrels live in the gardens Most of the staff are incredibly well trained and work hard. If we visit again this will be my hotel of choice. Much better than staying in St Helier as we have done before Collapse

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of St Helier. It is clean & there is a nice atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly & helpful. They have a shuttle bus which runs up & down to the town a few times a day, though not in the evening. If you are so minded you could walk it in 20 - 25 minutes. There is a nice pool area which we were lucky enough to enjoy, as the sun came out for a couple of days. There is a poolside bar & you can ask for food to be brought out to you. The grounds are not as extensive as described but still nice to walk around. There are a couple of aviaries with budgies & cockatiels. Our room was a good size though the double bed was small. We had a shower but no bath & the sink was in the main room. The walls are thin but luckily we had no noisy neighbours. They serve a good breakfast. However, I was less impressed with dinner ( we were half board). This was 3 courses - one meat dish, one fish dish & a vegetarian option. I am lactose intolerant so was asked to choose my meal during breakfast, which I have no issue with. What u then received for dinner was hit & miss. Often missing a sauce & vegetables were often still served with butter. The only advertised dessert was fruit salad though they also had sorbet which was not advertised. Overall I felt disappointed by the food served at dinner, but I would go back, probably bed & breakfast. Collapse

If I could live in this hotel I would do so in a flash. I've stayed here maybe 4 times now and it never disappoints. The whole Westhill experience is what makes it special. The gardens, the food, the weather and most of all the people who work there. I'm not going to call them staff as they are far more than that. They become friends with everybody who stays there. Nothing is too much trouble. Rich Allo was back entertaining everyone and if you thought he was good last season you wanna see him now. The gardens have had a make over. The pathways and walls have all changed colour and a brand new pavilion had been built. I'll say it again. If you go to Jersey this is the place to stay. Yeah you can get hotels on the beach or in the city centre but believe me, although the others are good they're really not a patch in this one. Collapse
