We were on the island with like minded people at the Jersey Scooter Rally which was held at the Westhill Country Hotel. I would recommend this Hotel to everyone. Considering the influx of a few hundred people for 3 days of music, beer and 2 stroke engines, the Hotel coped admirably. Plenty of room, superb breakfasts, pool facilities, hot tub, amazing gardens and beautiful setting. Our room was very nice indeed - kettle, tea, coffee, TV and a nice ensuite shower room too. Short drive to town, ( long walk). My only gripe was they weren't serving food on the Sunday and we had a late ferry crossing. Still, it was their end of season. Beware of Sunday's ... nothing opens and we struggled to get a cab! Over all a fabulous weekend. Collapse

This hotel is a couple of miles from the centre of things in St Helier. However there is a regular free shuttle to the bus station. The peaceful location and the beautiful gardens more than make up for any inconvenience of being on the edge of town. The room I had was quite spacious for a single room. A slight criticism though is that some fittings are quite dated but everything was spotlessly clean. I had paid the small supplement for a garden view and this was definitely worth it. On a couple of occasions I saw red squirrels from my window. The half board option is very good value. The food is really enjoyable even if not quite fine dining and the waiting staff are friendly and helpful. The service was always good. I found the reception staff to be excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind being a little away from the centre of things. There is quite a lot to do in Jersey. The full day tours give one a good overview of the island. Elizabeth Castle and the castle at Gorey are both superb and the war tunnels museum is a good option if the weather is poor. The Durrell wildlife park, the botanical gardens and the La Mare wine estate are also worth considering. Almost everywhere in Jersey is quite accessible by bus. At the time of writing there is a flat fare of £2 per journey, however long or short. Collapse
