We're here right now, March 22 through March 28. I didn't know that anyone made you pay for Internet anymore. This place charges $8 a day for only 1 device. Sad. We're here to check this resort out for Timeshare. We go to a 90 minute meeting in return for a low rate for our stay. The quality and cleanliness here are not up to our standards, but maybe the Timeshare owners stay in different accomodations. We have a nice location for a view of the lake, and we saw fireworks far in the distance last night. BUT NO FREE INTERNET??? Come on, that's just crazy! Collapse

Took the kids to Orlando for Spring break. We stayed at the Westgate resort property. Overall it was a nice facility however the parking was an issue. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but I would go back.

Registration took forever and we were not given basic information about the resort amenities, including the Wi-Fi login. The room lock did not work - was not the key cards but the lock itself. Security said locksmith would come next day at 9:00 a.m. Locksmith did not show up until 10:30. A/C was not working when we first checked in. Maintenance did come quickly to fix. Safe did not work properly. Very small roaches visible occasionally. TV cable is terrible. Missing a lot of usual channels, and oftentimes picture was not clear. The New York Pizzeria at the resort charges $17/$18 for a frozen pizza. As you would expect, the convenience store prices are highly inflated, but there is a Walmart just up the street. Kitchen is equipped with basics, but the entire décor is outdated. View from patio was very nice (small lake). Some housekeeping staff would not come into the room if they heard a dog, but dogs are permitted with a fee. Assign a maid that is not afraid of dogs! Resort staff are very good at apologizing for problems, and very professional, but have little authority over any problems you have. The seven pools are heated, but heated is probably exaggerating a little. They are not cold, let's say that. The loud music at some pools is unnecessary, and while three are supposed to have pool bars, not all are staffed regularly. The pools are clean, and the units in general are clean. The shuttle to and from the theme parks (Disney, Universal, Sea World) is helpful, but the sign in the shuttle that says "tipping the driver is usual" at approximately $1/person, is absolutely unprofessional; most other hotels in the area that provide shuttle service do so free of charge, as it should be. Do not pay the driver. This large resort does have sidewalks to attempt to walk around safely, but not all areas have the sidewalks and it is dangerous and confusing, particularly if you have children. The fitness center is well equipped and clean. The Disney desk in the lobby only offers tickets at the regular park price; not discounted. If I have a choice in the future, I will not stay here. We stayed at this Westgate only for 1 night before a flight. I wanted to try it before so thought this would be good chance to see if we like it enough to come back for a week. I thought the resort was very nice and had lots to do. Sits on a beautiful lake and you can rent paddleboats, fish etc. which kids love. they also had many pools and activities to partake in. Our room was just a king suite (B unit)which was fine for over night. I wouldn't want to stay in it for longer if you have kids with you. The room itself had plently of space for a couple and a nice kitchenette to use. I wasn't crazy about the layout but again it was only a night stay. This resort is in a great location to all Disney and getting over to International Drive. Collapse

Im being generous by giving it 2 stars. The place is old, nothing near a 4 star hotel. Housekeeping never came to clean the room even after we requested multiple times. In the end my husband had to get us fresh towels from one of the cleaners that promised to come but never showed up. The front desk did nothing about it. No parking always full. You'd have to park in the parking tower and its a good 15 minute walk from the room. Had to drag the luggage back and forth because the bell boy never showed up. There was always music playing by the pools. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Collapse
