The hotel is great please right on the canal, the room are very comfortable and very clean. The are very friendly can not do enough for you, the restraint is good to eat at, if you don't fancy that there good restraint to eat out. The town is a lovely market town, when were there on Saturday there was a market which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel as was the pubs. The only down side was that you had to pay to park in the hotel 60p per hour . We would differently stay there again, also you get a bus or your car into humberside. Collapse

We stayed at the Waterfront as a birthday celebration in one of the deluxe rooms at around £85. This was our second stay at this hotel in around 2 years with the first stay being very good so we expected similar again. When we arrived the lady on reception was polite and efficient; as were all the bar & restaurant staff. It's a short walk up a couple of floors to the top rooms although i'm not sure how people with disabilities etc. would get on as the lift only goes up a short distance. The room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed, a powerful shower and Jacuzzi - although it wasn't working it was a large bath none the less. The room also contained plenty of tea, coffee and other useful items provided e.g. shampoos. Later on we went for a few drinks around Brighouse centre and then returned for a meal in the evening at the Prego hotel located within the hotel building. We received great service here and outstanding food at reasonable prices. The bar staff kept the bar open (late for a Wednesday) and we returned to our rooms late on. Although I cannot knock the hotel itself as mentioned above, I can however state that the cleaners at this hotel have no consideration for their guests, or at least the ones we had to deal with at 8am - slamming doors, singing, shouting directly outside our room to each other for a good 1hr 30minutes. We later found out that the store room for the cleaners was only a door away from room 404 (where we stayed). When we left at 11am I reported the Jacuzzi issue to the receptionist and, the more major issue of the cleaners being noisy, rude and inconsiderate. The receptionist told me that the cleaners did not start until 9am and this may have been guests - however i confirmed that this was not the case and made my point clear that this was unacceptable for any guests paying £85 for a nights stay at any hotel. We did not want anything in compensation as the cleaning staff caused the issue but nothing was forth coming anyway! 1. Why are staff cleaning so early in a hotel? and 2. If they've been instructed to do so do the cleaning staff not have the brains to think that guests can stay in their rooms until 11am? Or, are they not trained by management to remain quiet and considerate to the people who pay? It's not in my nature to give such a (generally) good hotel such a poor review but the cleaners really did spoil our stay and the hotel did not seem that bothered when we made the complaint. My advice - Stick to a Premier Inn if you can; who guarantee a good nights sleep or your money back! We won't stay at the Waterfront again! Collapse

Stayed here for one night. Although the small room was very clean and well furnished, the bed was a total let down. It was completely knackkered. The mattress had no spring left in it whatsoever and it felt like we were lying on the bed base. We did not discover this until late in the evening so it was too late to ask to swap rooms, unfortunately it coloured my whole experience, as the breakfast was nice and the staff were very pleasant. The king thing about a hotel is the bed !, I also think that 13 hangers in a single wardrobe is overkill, as when there are two coats in there, it is full. I also recommend that other guests be very careful in the shower as I managed to scald my self as the water temperature is far too hot. There is a notice on the wall about this but I did not see it until afterwards and could not read it properly without glasses. I hope a young child does not get scalded like I did. The issues I have raised need to be sorted out for this place to get a higher rating from me. When my partner mentioned the bed to the receptionist, she smiled and said ''okay, we may have a look later'' !! Collapse

If you enjoy the relaxing sound of a reverberating drone to send you to sleep then this is your hotel. Unlike myself, being light sleeper the repetitive variable hum of the sub station is unbearable! I requested a room so that I couldn't hear the substation both on booking and then rechecked over the phone but I was still offered the noisiest room in the hotel. Collapse
