I would grade this as lower down the Marriott chain as the rooms are rather outdated, the grounds un kept and all feels very average not your usual high end hotel of which many Marriotts are, saying that staff where lovely, friendly an professional, breakfast good (although someone needs a lesson in cooking bacon - was it boiled ??) chef will cook eggs to order. Ample free parking but make sure you enter your reg details on the screen at reception. Rooms small and have the very old fashioned air ventilator in the bathroom which you can't turn off so it's nosiey like stepping back in time. Great for M25 but 3 miles to the nearest station. Overall ok, but don't pay more than £100 b&b or you will be disappointed. Collapse

We stayed here for a Friends Wedding. Most of the serving staff were really nice a good at their Jobs, the food was good and the room was comfortable. The Reception and Management staff were a different story. They missed key prices of information, seemed entirely uninterested and had to be reminded several times by the groom what their own company wide policy's were. Once passed them however it was a good Hotel. Collapse

Our room was a little dated but clean and comfortable I found the staff to be uninterested and not the most helpful I have come across. I tried to call room service on several occasions on the Saturday morning but no one answered luckily someone did answer when we called again in the early hours of Sunday morning. I also advised the cleaner that the room would not be free until 3pm on the Saturday to be cleaned yet they continued to knock every 30/40 mins asking if they could come into clean which was quite annoying as myself and my bridesmaid were trying to get ready. Also I had requested late check out and whilst we were loading the car with our first trip of belongings around 11:30 our room key was de activated so having gone back to the room I then had to come back down to reception and get the key re activated so we could collect the rest of our belongings. It was time for another family break, so revisited the Marriott Hotel in Waltham Abbey. Despite arriving early, I was greeted to a warm welcome and keys to our family room, from Christina Nuche, at reception, followed by Bartosz. It was a reasonably busy morning, but Christina still took the time to ensure that we had everything for our stay. Our room was clean, tidy with comfortable beds. If we were short of anything Connie and the house keeping team, were always at hand to assist. The hotel, has really nice health club, with a paddling, swimming pool, large whirlpool, Sauna and Steam room. My children like to spend time there and it keeps them entertained. Breakfast and dinner is provided in the Cast Iron Resturant, which offers a good selection, for children as well as adults. Sharon and her staff, have always been attentive, friendly and the food is nice. A comfortable stay, minutes away from various family activities, including Epping forest. Collapse

Hotel room is lovely and clean, some staff are friendly. Room service is disgustingly priced for awful food, ordered fish and chips and a chicken pizza, for the extra chicken they charged an extra £9 when toppings said +50p. Fish and chips asked for mushed peas and they were awful. Sauce spilt everywhere, forgotten chips. Breakfast was also extortionate, forgot juices, hot drinks yet we paid £15 each for cold toast, horrible cereal and one small drink to share. Charged us £20 for wifi even though they said it was free if I signed my email. This hotel will charge you for everything and anything do not give them your card details. Awful customer service too. Pool is nice but a lot lot smaller than expected. They don’t refill any of the tea / coffee in the room either only towels. Collapse
