Absolutely amazing!!! You need to spend there for all day! Young till 26 have free entrance, but anyway this place is worth all money. Amazing and absolutely needed to be visited when you are in Paris. Easy to reachable by train C!

Very poor service

Worst meal I have had in a restaurant in many years; food poor and service rushed. Staff lack attentiveness and don't deal with complaints; I assume that they get so many. Location amazing for the Palace and park

This is the third time my family has stayed at this hotel. Beautiful hotel grounds, pool, great food, fantastic service and walking distance to Versailles Palace makes this the perfect place o unwind after a long fight from the US. This time once again, all was fantastic until we went to bed. First we were awoken by the turn down service at 9:45 pm. That was late by even France standards. Then the shock of the night was when another guest entered our room and walked right up to our bed at nearly midnight. The front desk gave a half apology the next morning but that was all. Not that they can do anything after the fact but I expect more from a 5* hotel. It is that reason that I rate the hotel 3 versus 5. As for the rest of the stay it was great- We enjoyed the gym, pool and lobby bar. Pricing was comparable to other hotels at similar price points. Service was friendly and my son (age 10) was definitely welcome at the hotel. Collapse

We stayed here for our trip to the Palace of Versailles, and I highly recommend it if you plan to visit the palace. It's within walking distance, the concierge provided a map and when it looked like it might rain, the valet provided us with umbrellas. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the room service was excellent. They provided a crib for my seven month old son and it included his own little soaps and towel for his nightly bath. We felt very welcome even though we arrived later than we had originally planned. We stayed in the older, original building which I recommend, as it's lovely and full of character. We paid extra for a view of the Palace park, but in retrospect I don't think I would worry about that again. The garden of the hotel is lovely. The bathroom was large and equipped with an amazing soaking tub, which was a perfect way to end the day after a long, tiring walk at the Palace. So why only three stars? Well, our trip was marred by the fact that we could not get the heat to turn down in the room. It was SO hot. We read the directions in the guest services book, each of us tried it, and yet the temp remained toasty. Finally, we called the front desk for help. The front desk informed us that there was no one available that would be able to help, though the desk clerk kindly offered to come up and see if she could fix it. She could not. She left, and we sweated through the whole night, finally at one point opening the large windows to try and get better air circulation. But the windows didn't have screens and there were birds outside, so we only cracked them enough to get air. It helped a bit but not enough. I was a bit confused that they didn't offer to move us to another room that evening, but I let it go. The next morning however, I mentioned the issue to the front desk clerk, thinking that maybe they would waive the upgrade fee or something for the park view as a peace offering for our miserable hot night. Well, not exactly. We were offered a coupon for a couple of drinks or glasses of wine at the bar. At 10 AM, when we were checking out. When exactly would I use that? I left feeling disappointed, and the uncomfortable evening left me thinking I might not go back. I have stayed at many a Waldorf Astoria, and I frankly expected a bit more... service. I would have been happiest, after all, to just have had someone on staff that could have fixed the heat issue in the room. Collapse

Exactly as expected, this is a unique historic building and so close to the Versailles Castle that you feel part of it. Make sure to book a room in the main building and not the side building, which is a new one - typically you can get it as an upgrade. Breakfast is great, very relaxing and excellent. One thing to not miss: visit the gardens of the Versailles Castle before the castle opens to the public - if you're early enough you'll be the only one in the garden and possibly access it for free. I only give 4 stars because it is expensive - really worth it, but it would get a 5th star if there was a way to get it a little cheaper. Collapse
