Such a beautiful hotel and Rooms are beautiful The Room staff are excellent If you want a quiet week this place is for you would highly recommend. My only gripe in the Piano bar The Glass are very small measure compared to 17 Floor. For what you pay you expect a reasonable Glass. My husband and I would definitely come back again we have had most relaxing week. It's about hour to travel to Dubai which is nothing. We paid for Driver for the Day was well worth it. He was A Great Driver thank you to Waldorf Astoria for getting him for us. We were half board and visited Lexington Grill it was a Good if you like Steaks. We didn't visit others as we don't like Japanese and Arabic Food. The Cigar bar is Closed which was a disappointment for my Husband. But overall we liked our visit her very much would definitely come back one day. Collapse

We were searching for a beautiful getaway at the beach - with a bit more peace and quiet than on the Palm and good value for money. We found the Waldorf Astoria in Ras al Khaimah and had the most wonderful time. The hotel is located a 45min drive from Dubai´s Airport (DXB) and really easy to get to. We did not mind the distance too much as driving onto and from the Palm takes around the same amount of time. (The cost was around 280-300 Dirham. Surprisingly, the shuttle would have been 400 Dirham - so going for a taxi is the more economical option.) The hotel is a beautiful, but rather big building with 370 rooms - but then this is true for most of the hotels in and around Dubai. The rooms are really well designed in an oriental style and very spacious. Our room was the "deluxe" category facing the sea. This category features a balcony, a spacious bathroom with shower and tub, a walk in wardrobe and the main room which is divided into sleeping and living room areas. We loved it and enjoyed the amount of space and the huge balcony a lot. Room service was always prompt and did a great job. The hotel offers a well serviced beach as well as two outside pools and a well equipped gym within a beautiful spa area. The spa offers three different thermal spas as well as different treatment options (These are not included, but can easily be booked at the main desk.). Two tennis courts, beach volleyball fields and watersports are on offer, as well. Food was simply enjoyable. The main restaurant offers both breakfast and a buffet dinner. Both have a variety of dishes for dfferent tastes on offer ad we did not miss anything we would have liked. The quality of the food is remarkable and we were very happy with everything we tried (and we do like good food...). A real treat was the Indian food on offer that was prepared by Dinesh, the Indian chef. He was just lovely, the Naan out of the tandoor is simply delicious. The Arabian restaurant on the 16th floor offers a beautiful experience. We did not try the Steak house or the Japanese place on site. As we only stayed for a few nights, we made most of the hotels facilities and did not book any tours that are on offer, as well. All in all - we had very relaxing and lovely days in the Waldorf Astoria at great value - within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Collapse

We have been fortunate enough to travel widely and stay in some of the best hotels in the world. In fact its been a bit of an obsession both for family trips and business travel for many years. The Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah is without doubt the best that I have ever experienced. (including a stay the the original WA this summer) From pre arrival communication, collection at the Airport and personal greeting at the hotel, to our sad departure a week later, every aspect and detail of the place was exemplary. Amgad greeted us personally as HHonors members and had made some special arrangements for us including a room upgrade to a King Tower Suite. We ate often, including every day for breakfast in the Qasr-al-Bahar buffet restaurant - which is something that we'd normally avoid, but in WA style it was unlike the usual hotel buffet experience and everyone went beyond the regular service level to make sure that everything was as requested. Ulia (?) even arranged to have waffles remade for my wife, with extra egg white to make them lighter! The restaurant managers made the whole place run like a Swiss watch. On a couple of occasions we booked into the other restaurants and again they were fantastic - it's a toss up between UMI (Japanese) and the Lexington Grill as to my favourite. Christmas lunch 'under the sun' in a poolside cabana was a nice touch too, and perfectly delivered. Poolside was also a highlight of this place with the option for the main family area or the quieter adults only 'lap' pool. Both with loads of space, freely available cabanas and excellent pool service. Special mention here to Bhaskar at the adult pool bar for looking after us with fruity cocktails, and Michael for his hospitality, fresh towels and cold water at the main pool. Housekeeping was of the highest standard and the staff always engaging to see if we needed anything or wanted any aspect of our room personalised. If you asked me what the best thing about the WA @ RAK is - itwould be simply EVERYTHING. To see a great team working together to deliver excellence in any sphere is a joy - to benefit directly from their expertise through an amazing holiday experience is even better. RAK is less than an hour from the mayhem of Dubai - much quieter and less developed - I can completely recommend it and the WA to UAE residents looking for a little peace and quiet or long haul visitors like us looking for a winter 'flop'. Please pass our thanks and regards to all the staff, named here and unnamed who made our trip so wonderful. Collapse
