Stayed at Waldorf in RAK for 6 nights with my husband and 5 month old baby in a Junior King Suite with balcony and ocean front room. We were offered an upgrade upon check in for a room with a balcony for an extra charge, which we decided to do. The property and rooms are gorgeous however we were quite disappointed with the amount of construction going on on the hotel grounds. Hotel/rooms - extremely well kept, modern and clean. The rooms were very spacious. There is huge walk in closet/dressing room upon entering the room (we were able to put the babys crib in here and use it as a separate room). The room has a very spacious sitting area that is separated from the bed area. There is also a large double door that opens onto a huge balcony, The balcony is much bigger than the average hotel beach balcony. Grounds - We were quite disappointed with the amount of construction going on at the resort. Our ocean front room/view was obstructed by a large temporary structure that was being built on the beach for an upcoming event. Every morning our view consisted of construction workers, cranes, etc. This construction was directly beside the pool and beach area so we unfortunately were not able to escape the construction for our entire week visit. Over half of the beach area was overtaken by construction during the entire time of our stay. Unfortunately the construction didn't stop in the evening - we tried to enjoy room service dinner on our large balcony however it was extremely noisy from the construction (we were in the room with all doors/windows closed and could still hear the noise). It persisted until after 11 PM. During the second night of this we called the front desk to ask if this would continue and we were just told yes and offered no apology, etc. When you pay for an ocean front room with balcony you expect to be able to relax and enjoy the view however this was not the case. I believe we should have been informed of this construction/inconveniences before booking the room. (Of note, there was construction also beside the hotel from another property but I cannot complain about this as I know the Waldorf could control this). Spa - Spa was wonderful. Had a full body, 90 minute massage, and loved it! Would recommend using the spa when visiting. Pools/Beach - Other than the construction going on beside the pool and on the beach, the pool and beach were wonderful. There were plenty of sun chairs and cabanas available at all times. We primarily used the family pool which was great in that it had a shaded kids area so the kids could play without worrying about too much sun exposure. The service at the pool was also wonderful - constantly given ice, bottles of water, and towels. Very impressed with the staff at the pool/beach! Overall we had a wonderful stay, just feel as though the construction really took away from having a 5 star experience/stay (which I expect to have when staying at a Waldorf Hotel). Collapse

We have stayed here several times and the service, food, amenities and all are truly 5 star. The only less than stellar comment I can offer is on value. As a Hilton Honors long time member, the price at the Waldorf is quite high given that there are many other Hilton properties in Ras Al Khaimah to choose from, Hilton Honors members can get the same great service and experience or very nearly the same, for a lower price. Double Tree by Hilton Al Marjan is very close, it is very new and has many of the things we look for at a lower price. The Waldorf Astoria is next to the golf course so we use that as an advantage, however, the Hilton Al Hamra is even closer to the golf course and is very nice also. It is a bit older property, but still quite nice and the beaches are right next to each other with the Waldorf. If the Waldorf Astoria would offer just a bit better prices for the Hilton Honors members, especially those that live in the UAE, we would most certainly stay at the Waldorf Astoria every time versus the other Hilton properties. The moment we arrived at the hotel, everything looks so elegant & beautiful... lobby is huge.. sense of arrival is amazing, rooms are spacious, pool/beach cabana's are pretty big and so many. I believe one of the best hotel in the emirate.. Food was quite average (we had few items from the room service), plus the vegetarian options were comparatively less so once we had to dine outside. overall experience was good and I would recommend this hotel for at least 2 nights stay Collapse

From the moment we arrived at the Waldorf Astoria resort, at 3am in the morning, the service and attentiveness from the staff where exceptional. The hotel has a beautiful architecture in a modern classic style and very high attention to detail. It starts at the front entrance with free valet parking, a grand lobby and reception. Even at our late arrival, our check-in was done within minutes. Since we missed dinner, the receptionist offered to bring some food to our room, and it arrived just in time for a late night snack. The room was big and spacious with a walking closet, large bathroom and enough sitting and relaxing areas to rest and relax. The resort is truly impressive, and the staff deserve all the credit here. From the front desk, the concierge, house keeping, pool staff and waiters all did an amazing job to tend to all our needs in a really professional way, making our stay relaxing and above all expectation. Almost every day in our week long stay we got a small surprise. Be it from house keeping staff with a special decoration in our room or the waiter with a tasty specialty from the kitchen. A real 5 star experience! Collapse
