We live in Dubai and go to many different resorts on the weekend. So many resorts do not do it the same as the Waldorf. Their good food that's easy on the hip pocket, the pool, the gym overlooking the Arabian Sea and Burj Al Arab, beach with a pontoon that the kids have fun jumping off, relaxed family atmosphere, kids club, and the part that stands out the most are the friendly, helpful and positive staff. The Waldorf staff in my opinion are the happiest resort staff in town, which results in happy and chilled guests. Shout out to Teejay at the outside pool; doing his job extremely well in the heat, always with a smile. We are now regular guests thanks to staff like Teejay. Oh, and free chilled water in the heat also helps to separate this resort from others in Dubai... we went to the Fairmont a few weeks ago and spent over 200dhs just on water, and I was still thirsty. Well done Waldorf, don't go changing; and keep up the good work :-) Collapse

I don't usually get around to writing reviews on places I stay but this hotel truly deserves the time taken. We stayed here from 18th to 22nd May & our stay was wonderful from start to finish. We arrived around 8.30am very tired from our night flight from Heathrow & to our surprise our room was ready! We didn't expect to be able to check in until 2pm so this was great for us as we were able freshen up, unpack & head straight to the beach. The room (444) was beautiful with super comfy king bed, separate shower & bath with tv in it & walk in wardrobe. We also had a huge balcony with a sea view. We met our housekeeper Negi who did a smashing job & made the best towel animals I have ever seen. When we went to the beach we were greeted by an attendant who put towels on the very comfy loungers for us & gave us complimentary bottles of water. The beach itself is heaven, the sea is clear, calm & lukewarm perfect for swimming & the view is stunning. The temperature was roughly 39 when we were there but it was a very comfortable heat didn't feel clammy at all. We ate in the mezzarie buffet that night & it was Arabic cuisine. The food & service was exemplary. We took a taxi the following day to Dubai mall at a cost of aed 115 about £20ish & went shopping & up to the top of the burj khalifa, I thoroughly recommend you do this if you are visiting Dubai as the views are incredible & it is the tallest skyscraper in the world after all! We ate that evening in the hotels Michelin star restaurant 'social' I can say it was the best meal we have ever had. Everything was perfection, the food was out of this world, the restaurant manager & his team were beyond amazing at their jobs & the animated head chef whom we had the pleasure of watching work had us chuckling throughout our meal. It was my birthday whilst we were there & I ended up receiving three birthday cakes in total & flowers which was a lovely touch. The following day we had afternoon tea at peacock alley, now like a typical British woman I am very fond of afternoon tea & have taken it in some very upmarket places in London & surrounding areas so I had high expectations & this did not disappoint, infact I would go as far to say it is the best, tastiest I have ever had! They also had live music whilst we were eating which was nice as it was very relaxing & not too loud so you could enjoy conversation. We visited the mezzarie for dinner that night & it was American/tex mex menu which was again superb. We spent the next day on the beach enjoying the free mini smoothies & fruit skewers they brought round & enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, I have seen a few reviews complaining about the nearby construction work but it really wasn't loud at all we didn't even notice it. That evening we had dinner at palm avenue & sat in a pool cabana. This was a lovely way to spend our last evening. Shrimp, steak prosecco & key lime cheesecake rounded of with another birthday cake & flowers from Marko one of the managers a very charming Croatian! Before I round off my very long review I must also give special mention to the bar staff at serafina the late night venue where we spent every evening. They were attentive, polite, friendly & the man who's name I wish I knew made me a special birthday shot which really hit the spot probably why I can't remember his name! So basically if you love food, incredibly service, extra special touches then don't hesitate to book here it will be the best money you ever spend on a holiday although expect to gain a few pounds in other areas! . We are hoping to return next year but this time with double trouble our 2 & 5 year olds as this hotel is also very family friendly with safe beach, kids club, pool & playground etc. Take me back!! Me and my partner stayed here to celebrate our 4 years together. I'm so glad we chose this hotel as it was certainly the best hotel I think I've ever stayed in. The rooms are huge and light with great air con, really clean. So many lovely features and great views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! I haven't had a good breakfast like that in any other hotel I've ever stayed at anywhere! Every hotel I stay in I find myself comparing to the waldorf and no where else ever tops it! So for this reason me and my partner will be staying here again June 2017 to celebrate our 5 years! We can not wait to spend it here knowing it's going to well a memorable stay. I highly recommend it. Collapse
