Dear Mr. Bunce: I just returned from a trip to New York and a stay at the W. My stay this time was longer than usual since I was there for nine days. We can never say enough for Liz who always makes everything go smoothly for us during our stay. This time she had our room ready with a refrigerator and microwave. She is our main point of contact and the great service starts with her. She is the best. Alex was so sweet. He went out of his way to bring people to meet me in the restaurant. He brought Tom O’Daniels over to meet me and we had a very pleasant conversation. I told him how much we love coming to the W and how well everyone there treats us so wonderfully. Alex also brought out Chef Lon and I told him how much I love the food and especially how I always ask for special things and I always get what I want. Alex is always so attentive. One morning, I ordered the avocado toast for the first time. I didn’t realize it would have a type of salsa on the top. I do not eat raw onions so I was picking out the raw onions. Well, when Alex saw that he swooped by grabbed my dish and quickly returned with avocado toast without raw onions. That really was totally unnecessary, but once again so thoughtful and considerate. Rafael, Diddy, Tizy, McArthur, Wen take such good care of us int the restaurant. We always feel so comfortable and welcome. I had my ten year old grandson with me and they were so kind to him and really paid special attention to him. When I first arrived, I was introduced to May and she very kindly sent a fruit platter to our room. That is one of those special things your hotel does for us that we never get any where else we go. Later in the week, Jennifer from the Heartbeat sent a bowl of fruit to our room. Once again, such an act of kindness. Susan did a wonderful job keeping our room clean. She sure did keep us stocked with toiletries which was great so that we never ran out. That is a real plus when you have four people showering. During the week our two children (my 11-year old grand niece had joined us by this time) also had a very sweet surprise--they came home one night and they each had a teddy bear waiting by their pillows. We thought that was such a thoughtful reminder of their stay at the W. David, Jason and Jordan all helped us get around the city. We had lots of questions and they were able to answer them all. Rodney brought us extra bedding at our request at 11:45 PM on Monday, July 17th. Michael printed off our boarding passes since the computers on the mezzanine lever were not working. Robert delivered those boarding passes around 10 PM on July 18th. Mercedes brought us up some packing tape for a package that we needed to send out. Stanley fixed the electrical outlet in our bathroom. Edna and Gloria gave me my welcome when they came on board. Poor Erin was plagued by our grandson when he went to her website and found out that she had met Beyonce. She was so patient with all of his questions. She was just her usual delightful self. We had a wonderful stay. Everything went so smoothly and was so comfortable. We would like to thank everyone for how kindly we are treated. Collapse

Recently stayed at the W Lexington Ave- New York. Location was great! Rooms were a bit rundown and in need of renovation. Rooms very small- then again, it's New York. Rooms do not have coffee/ Tea making facilities. We had to call reception desk to deliver for us. Front office staff could smile more and be friendlier. Late check out request was honoured which was greatly appreciated as we had a late night flight out of New York. Collapse

Super location for a sight seeing trip to New York City. You can walk to all the major attractions. I stayed at the hotel with my husband for for 4 nights. The rooms are a little small and tired, but have everything you should need during your stay. The air conditioning is extremely noisy though which I found hindered our sleep. We didn't use the restaurant for breakfast so I can't comment. There are plenty of great bistros nearby though. I did find I had to keep an eye on our account though as random items were being added, but were removed without any problems. Collapse

Tiny rooms slow elevators and the room HVAC is unbelievably loud- hard to sleep as it turns off and on frequently. The room lighting is strange. Good toiletries. Easy checkin and checkout. Lobby is crowded and loud.
